Status Badges & Workflows
FlowQMS uses consistent color-coded badges to indicate the status of records throughout the application.
Badge Design
Every status badge includes three elements for accessibility:
- Color — Visual indicator (green, yellow, red, blue, gray)
- Text — Status label (e.g., "Approved", "Open", "Critical")
- Icon — Supporting icon (checkmark, warning triangle, clock, etc.)
This triple encoding ensures that status is clear even for users who cannot distinguish colors.
Common Status Colors
| Color | Meaning | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Positive / Complete | Approved, Active, Closed, Completed, On Track, Pass |
| Yellow | Warning / In Progress | Pending Review, At Risk, Due Soon, In Progress |
| Red | Critical / Urgent | Critical, Rejected, Overdue, Off Target, Fail |
| Blue | Informational / Active | Open, Draft, Investigation, Medium Priority |
| Gray | Neutral / Inactive | Archived, Inactive, N/A, Low Priority |
Workflow Steppers
For records with multi-stage workflows (NCRs, Change Requests, Document Approvals), a visual Workflow Stepper shows progress:
- Completed stages — Shown with a green checkmark
- Current stage — Highlighted with a numbered circle
- Future stages — Shown with a gray numbered circle
- Connecting lines between stages show the progression path
